RemotelyAnywhere is a fully featured remote access tool which is ideal for use in business environment, but equally useful for home users. The software is slightly more complex than some solutions out there and provides functionality which might appeal to more tech-savvy users. However, even with just some basic computer knowledge it should be easy to get up and running and gain access to any remote PC.
RemotelyAnywhere provides full remote control access to the host PC from a web browser anywhere in the world. Once logged into the system, a wide variety of options are available which make diagnosing and repairing problems on the remote PC easy and fast. The PC can be operated as if you were sitting directly in front of it and all the files and applications are accessible. Furthermore, it is easy to drag and drop files between computers, share the clipboard and hear all the system sounds produced by the remote PC.
Since RemotelyAnywhere is aimed at IT support staff and helpdesk workers, a whole host of extra functionality is provided to cater for these users. There are detailed logging tools which can produce reports of all the activity on a system and store information on all remote sessions. To gain access to the remote PC, a valid Windows login username and password must be given and anyone who gets it wrong 5 times will be locked out completely. Also, all communications between computers are encrypted using SSL and logs are kept so that administrators can check for unauthorized connection attempts.
RemotelyAnywhere is well developed and useful for anyone needing a remote administration tool. Although the application is aimed at business users, home users will still find it useful - although may not make use of the full range of functionality offered.
