Price Gouging at its finest

We have subscribed to LogMeIn for their Pro features since before LogMeIn discontinued their free limited feature product.
Each year since LogMeIn became a commercial only product, the annual subscription fee has approximately doubled over the previous year's price. Case in point: even for the "personal" package that allows access to 2 computers, 2 (or 3) years ago the price jumped to $99. for a year subscription. That is when I had to drop the account that I used to support my mom and an elderly friend. For our non-profit however, we needed access and the $149. price while an unexpected extreme increase in price, was something that we deemed necessary.
Last year the price to access only 5 computers outpaced the price increases for ObamaCare and nearly doubled to $349. to "renew" the 1-year subscription. Again, we paid the price.

This year to continue to access the 5 computers, the price is $599.99. (That is a price increase from $350 -> $600 (over 40% increase).
Unfortunately, we will be adding a couple of computers in the coming months so the price to access 10 computers (the next available level) is $1099.99.

I am not sure if this is the... (Read the full review)

Cyber Racketeering

This crude bunch of thieves send you to somewhere like the Asia to talk to someone who cannot speak English and eventually show you how bad your computer is infected. They are very convincing. A warning fist appears and makes you think they are from Microsoft. After you think you can't recover anything safely on your computer, for $359.00 they can fix every problem in your life! When I refused the offer they disconnected and locked my PC with a must call notice.... Through your money up the street, you'll get more out of it!

LogMeIn Review

I have used Log me in for a couple of years and for a free service, it was barely OK. I had switched from GO TO MY PC but for what I used it for, it was OK. Now they have stopped the free and given everyone 7 days before it expires. However, these dirtbags have been disconnecting the connection every since they announced the product termination. If you are going to eliminate the product, then do so. Don't keep saying I have the service when I have to re-log in every 2 freaking minutes. It is not illegal but they certainly are NOT going to be considered for future computer access. If they are that underhanded now, I certainly will not trust them with my personal bank info.
DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! They are sneaky bastards.

In summary, I would not recommend Log Me In to a friend.

Free version good if that's all you need

I've used both the free and pro version for years. If you don't need remote printing or file sharing then the free version is a very good value. Both versions work ok however a decent speed internet connection is required.

I too got stung by their renewal and no-refund policy. My card expired and when I updated the info an ad at the site led me to think I was renewing my exisiting subscription at a reduced price when actually I purchased another subscription I didn't want. They wouldn't refund my money.

I'll be moving to something else where they value their customers more.

I would recommend the free version to a friend

In summary, I would not recommend Log Me In to a friend.

Dishonest Billing Policies
27 June 2011
Reviewer: Rshacklett from Denver, CO

Very angry with them on their auto-renewal policy. Had called them last year after their auto renewal had happened to cancel auto renewal. This year, they conveniently didn't have record and charged me the amount again. They have a no-refund policy, and the credit card company won't do anything about it... SO make sure to hang on to any "confirmation number" they give you if you cancel the service, or they will keep charging ENDLESSLY.

Its just very irritating that the customer HAS to PROVE to them and the Credit Card company that you're wanting the service cancelled - or they will charge endlessly. There is no way in the site to change the billing credit card either.

A very poor policy, and a way to dishonestly keep stealing money from their customers.

In summary, I would not recommend Log Me In to a friend.
