I have paid for Profesional then moved to non-paid version

I had loved this software in the 2009-~2013, then they shifted to an annual renewal. I had closed my business and continued to use the software for my mother in law and other family for me to assist them. TeamViewer then began to close my connections to my home systems, so fast that it's useless. As of today I have explained that they are preventing me from using this software for personal use.

If you ever move from professional use to personal use, you are F'ed!

In summary, I would not recommend Team Viewer to a friend.

They Ruined Their Own Product
11 October 2019
Reviewer: Mike H from Lansing, MI

Team Viewer started out as good product. As time has gone on, their developers have made the product so difficult to use that it has sometimes become useless. One of the issues is that one version is not compatible with another. So if you are trying to support someone and they have version 12 and you are on 14, the product will not communicate. The other issue is the limited number of support people that can be on at a time. Another issue is trying to get the right version to your end users through the download. More often than not, you will end up with the free version, even though you have paid for their product. They just have not made it easy to support end users. They constantly want you to download the latest version, even though they know that their product is not backward compatible. Their support answer to everything is purchase the latest version. It has just become hoop after hoop just to get their product to work. Our support team is just tired of the hoops and like any company we just want a... (Read the full review)

Decent product, dumb business model

I have purchased the product for my small software business so that I can better support my clients. No sooner had I spent 1800 dollars for the product than I was slammed with a 700-800 dollar charge for an upgrade. It was at best deceptive, and at worst fraud. Personally I don't mind a straight up agreement, but I do mind deceptive practices and I think that Teamviewer is very deceptive. The product is fine;doing business with them stinks. I am actively looking for a product the replace them with and am certain that I will find one.

Team Viewer Data Policy Sucks

A great product generally in the way that it works, but beware that you are trading away your data - meaning EVERYTHING on your computer. See the extract form the Software License Agreement below. That's what happens when you get something for free; you trade away your rights to your very personal information.

... You agree that TeamViewer, its subsidiaries and affiliates may collect and use personally identifiable information, not limited to technical information about your computer, system and application software that is gathered periodically and automatically to facilitate and improve upon the provision of software updates, Support, Content, TPM and other services to you.

In summary, I would not recommend Team Viewer to a friend.
