I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. I tell EVERY one of my clients to install and use LogMeIn. First of All, the FREE version is simple to use and install. It allows the client access to their computer anytime from anywhere, and it allows me to remotely log in to either help them with a problem or work on their QuickBooks without interuption to their business day. Secondly, although the FREE version does not allow for file transfer or remote printing, I can still print to the clients attached printer any reports they need and I find just e-mailing myself the info I may need sufices.
For my own needs, I have the PRO version installed in my Home Office. This allows me to log into my office from each clients computer when I am at their remote location. I can easily transfer files, print remotely, and it allows me to monitor any emergency e-mails from other clients. Part of my business is training owners and employees to use the QuickBooks program, with the PRO version's "Share My Desktop" I can teach from my Home Office directly to their home or office.
The majority of my clientele is local, however I do have clients across the USA and LogMeIn has allowed the client to send me their paperwork which I enter into their file, then log into their home or office computer and upload the updated information. Simple, straight-forward, easy to use.
I have also purchased and installed the iPhone app. This has come in handy a few times. I do struggle with the small screen type, and the constant zoom and unzoom to get the info I need, but, I have successfully retreived information from both my Home Office and a clients computer while traveling. It paid for itself after the first use.
I have used GoToMyPC, it works just as well, BUT, I believe the price structure negates its value. LogMeIn as a FREE version, is ALL my clients need, LogMeIn PRO is definitely well worth the yearly fee my business and I would be lost without it. Many of my clients who use FREE eventually upgrade to PRO and have added their own home/business computers or laptops to their accounts and are very happy with it.
